At Fortis Manufacturing we strive for consistency in all aspects of our business.  We partner with the best anodizing companies in the industry, order large batches of material from the same lot & prep our parts for anodize the same way every time.  By mitigating variables and enacting specific constraints we do our best to bring that quality to every product we put our name on.  Unfortunately, there are areas where things are out of our control especially with relation to anodizing and specifically color variations.

Our aluminum products that specify anodizing, are finished in Type III hardcoat anodize. This builds a layer of hardness that has a resistance to abrasion and scratches. Due the process of the part being dipped into a dye bath, there is science behind the outcome of color. The concentration of chemicals in the bath, the dye mix itself, the chemistry of the mixture and even considerations of unknown environmental factors - all with impact the outcome and the colors will vary from batch to batch or even within the batch itself. Finally, the part being either 6061 or 7075 type of aluminum will all make a difference as well.

Even though we and our partners take many painstaking steps to have uniform outcomes, color variation is something that does occur and because of this, we do allow some variation in the shades of our anodized colors.

We make every effort to have anodizing to be as close to the photos as possible, but even photos are a bit misleading. Looking at it from your mobile device vs a desktop and certain monitors will show colors in a different light.  In the images below you will see some of the variations we have within our product line.
